I was talking to gaygoalie as he was waiting in LA before heading to SF...
Suddenly he's like I'm "eating some cocopuffs waiting for them to come get me.. blah.."
It just struck me as oddly funny. Like the last words of a condemned man...or maybe of a man with the mental capacity of a six year old...
Just a thought ....

Moving, school, and my friend insomnia...
Here it is...1:20am and I have to be on the air at 6am. I'll actually be functional about 5:30 as that's when I need to pull my 6am/8am newscasts together as well as starting to pull music to play throughout the morning.
It's been a fairly productive weekend. I am almost totally moved into the new apartment. I'm going to be job hunting this week like mad. The 8a-3p class makes that rather difficult however.
My class is going well. I'll be floor director this week. I'm still hoping that I can manage to get a chance to actually anchor the news *once*. That's my big "ooh ahh" for the summer. I did weather for the first week. I really really do enjoy it but yet, I want to do so much more for the weather than what UTVS does and what they can do.
Oh well, I'm enjoying the class to no end and it's over the 14th of July. (cheers).
So here I sit at work, frustrated. I can't work on my novel as my computer is at the apartment (running on an AMD Athlon 1300 as my XP 1700+ took a shit during the move. We won't have Internet until Tuesday at the apartment, so I've been taking the time to get myself back into my novel. I'm started to really get into it again and I feel like I have a solid grip on the details but not the minutae.
Now if I could only order pizza...(pauses...yup, outta campus cash, only got $2.25 left there).
Okay, it's official, donations are being taken for the JT Support Fund.
Hot job leads in the St. Cloud Area are also welcome.
*yawn* I'm gonna try to catch a few hours of sleep on the big red couch down here at the station.
I'll be back on more often after Tuesday morning.
I'm hoping to post more later this afternoon on what's going on in my life.

Summer class...and hell.
It's 6am on the first day of graded newscasts. Why I'm awake, I don't know. Something woke me up about 3am. I haven't been able to fall back to sleep. I'm going to run out to Wal-Mart and get some baby powder for my head. (My shaved head shines like a mo-fo under the studio lights.)
I'm already prepped for my weathercast (and with more details and bullshit to talk about than I'll need).
The one cool thing about the weathercasts is that it's three minutes of glib adlib. I have a few graphics with details on them, but it's up to me to explain it in a way that any of you could understand. If I can squeeze a definition of a technical term in...I'll certainly try. Today's discussion is going to be focusing on "northwest flow" aloft and why it often means a stormy pattern is in store for the Upper Midwest.
I pray that today they'll have the right tape (all our graphics and imagery are on tape which I'm superimposed over via modern technology). Yesterday, the playback deck crashed *with* the weather tape in it and I was forced to adlib over wrong graphics, so I just went on like I had the right graphics and explained like I would if the maps were right. I just had to add more locations to paint the mental picture for the viewer.
I'm looking around for a "weather/enviromental" story so that I could possibly do a report again today. I had two weather-related stories today and it worked rather well.
Class is 8a-3p and it's very tiring as we are going non-stop right until the last "we're clear" of the newscast. It's a ton of fun however so it's all worth it. A year of being on the radio has given me the confidence to be on camera and also to deal with any technical difficulties with aplomb and just keep going.
I think I'm getting a lot more out of TV Workshop this year than I did last year.

How very strange...
So I get an e-mail from CafePress that they are in the beta of book publishing.
Now I've never had any cheap delusion that I'm the next Hemingway or Thoreau.
However, for some reason, the idea that I can finish up my novel and have it published as a paperback makes me wet. I've never really even though about publishing it and yet, I've already downloaded their template and I'm feeling so much more inspired to actually finish my novel.
The Goddess moves in strange ways.

Toil, Toil, Boil and Trouble
Well, after two rounds of strong thunderstorms and more lightning this morning that I was comfortable with, I feel much better.
My energy level is up and I'm starting to feel like I'm getting back to being myself a bit more.
Yesterday was the full moon, so I'm going to do a ritual for the full moon and see what happens.
Classes for the 2nd Summer Session started today. Ugh. I forgot how much I dislike classes.
At least it adds things to do to the day.
More later after the ritual...

Catching Up...
Well, I'm still a mundane for the most part. I've gotten basic energy detection and identification back. I still can't "power up" and summon energy.
Jess, Alex (they are a couple) and I are waiting to hear on the apartment we applied for. We should find out on Monday or Tuesday if we got it.
I'm currently doing laundry and cleaning my room. Oh how thrilling that is.
I should be working on Stocky Jock but my motivation to sit down and recode a site just hasn't been here. Though, I'm actually getting my motivation back here in the last few days. I'm planning on setting aside an hour a day for Stocky Jock until it's done (it really won't take long) and then an hour a day for my novel until it's done (how many days will it really take...)
All in all, life is boring but consistent. I'm applying for jobs hand over fist but no one is St. Cloud is really hiring for anything more than about 5 hours per week. What's the point in that??
I did find a job as the IT Support Tech for Princeton (MN) Public Schools that I'll be sending my resume off for as well as getting my application off to Dijitial Majick (a decent computer store here in St. Cloud) since they just opened.
As always, you can Support JT
