I don't know what I did...

Chris and I went out to eat Don Pablo’s last night after work. It’s our Friday thing to eat out and “celebrate” the end of the work week.

We left about 9pm.....and as we were leaving I developed a sharp pain in my right testicle. I was a quick sharp pain and it was gone. By the time we got home, my testicle was hurting constantly and the pain was radiating into my abdomen. About an hour later, it was so bad that I could barely walk and trying to do much of anything had me in tears and almost throwing up.

Off to the ER. It’s not testicular torsion (which if not treated < 4 hours, has a 50% chance of testicle loss. If > 8 hours, it’s >90% chance of the testicle being removed.). I’m now on morphine and still freaked out at hearing this. No blood in the urine, which knocks kidney stones down the list of possibilities. So I have an ultrasound and CT done of the boys and my groin. All normal.

They sent me home with percocet and told me to follow up with my GP in 2-3 days. If I suddenly develop a high fever, swelling in one or both testicles, or other major changes, I’m to report to the ER as soon as possible.

I don’t know what I did, but damn, I pray I never do it again.

Okay, I'm kitty whipped ;)

I“m sitting here typing on the computer and Buster jumps up in my lap...then up on the desk. He then proceeds to lay on my hands or he’ll try to type like I am.

Though I have discovered that he loves the mouse (pointer) on the screen. He’s tried to get it already a couple of times (am I glad that I still have a CRT right now).

But he’s now pushing his head against my left hand and laying down. I think he’s wanting me to get off the computer and either lay down with him or at least pay (more).

I’m in love....with Buster!

Buster

So I broke down today. I went to PetSmart after work to look around for some ideas on cats and dogs. Mistake!

One of my biggest requirements for a cat was it had to be a short hair.

I looked at the kitties and they had a beautiful charcoal gray kitty with white paws and a couple of cats that reminded me strongly of ‘s cats Moses and Sophie. Then I saw Buster. The cutest little face, extremely friendly, played but didn’t bite, and has a non-stop purr motor.

I fell in love at first site. I was going to check with the local shelters as well before I got my cat. Chris and I both were wandering around and I was still thinking about Buster. I was getting ready to leave and Chris was like “You know you want him.”

So I wound up with Buster. He’s the cutest lil devil and he’s already made me cry a few times. As I started typing this, he crawled up me (he still has all his claws) and curled up on my shoulder. He buried his head against my neck and just started purring like crazy...then fell asleep. He’s since climbed down onto my desk and is sitting between my hands curled up watching me as I type this entry.

He’s still randomly running through the house like only a kitty can...so I’ve only managed to get two pictures of him.

He can be seen at Buster’s Gallery.

He’s had his shots and been neutered already. He’s a lil bundle of joy and I feel like a proud parent!

Well, it’s been a busy night with getting stuff to help Buster get settled in. I can tell he’s going to be a very spoiled kitten (or is that he’s going to have some very hardworking servants?)

I got this at work...

9 Things I Hate About Everyone

1. People who point at their wrist while asking for the time.... I know where my watch is pal, where the hell is yours? Do I point at my crotch when I ask where the toilet is?

2. People who are willing to get off their ass to search the entire room for the T.V. remote because they refuse to walk to the T.V. and change the channel manually.

3. When people say “Oh you just want to have your cake and eat it too”. Damn right! What good is cake if you can’t eat it?

4. When people say “it’s always the last place you look”. Of course it is. Why the hell would you keep looking after you’ve found it? Do people do this? Who and where are they?

5. When people say while watching a film “did you see that?”. No Loser, I paid $12 to come to the cinema and stare at the damn floor.

6. People who ask “Can I ask you a question?”.... Didn’t really give me a choice there, did ya sunshine?

7. When something is ‘new and improved!’. Which is it? If it’s new, then there has never been anything before it. If it’s an improvement, then there must have been something before it, couldn’t be new.

8 When people say “life is short”. What the hell?? Life is the longest damn thing anyone ever does!! What can you do that’s longer?

9 When you are waiting for the bus and someone asks “Has the bus come yet?”. If the bus came would I be standing here, dumbass?

Now I know I want a cat...

I've been meme free for so long...I feel dirty

Please leave a one word comment that you think best describes me.

No explaining it. Just a single word. The word you think best summarizes me.

Today was Thursday...what happened?

Normally Thursdays are good days at work. They are our slowest days of the week and it’s a catch up day.

Not today, it was steady, but just busy enough that you couldn’t quite get stuff finished. It was like just as you thought the wave was cresting...it would grow some more.

It’s been a long time since I got home from work and was ready to go to bed. Especially after I had a full eight hours of sleep last night.

Chris is in a bad mood due to girl problems. So I’m going to find some fast food and call it a night.

Thank you God/dess!

WOW!

We just had the best 30 minutes of thunderstorms that I’ve had the pleasure of experiencing in a very long time.

Nothing severe, a period of about 20 minutes of torrential rain and a light show that couldn’t be beat.

There was so much lightning, you could actually smell the ozone in the air! (Yes, the lightning was striking all around.)

One of the better ground strikes happened about a half mile to a mile north of here. I saw the ground strike which was a lime green color...then a sudden *flash* of electric blue. The funny part of it was that all the apartment buildings north of us lost power while ours didn’t even blink.

Overall though, I definately feel more energized and more in touch with Them. I got what I wanted in so many ways I didn’t expect in that storm!

I need to get out!!!

I’m bored beyond tears. Life is going well. This is good.

However, I don’t ever really do anything. I want to get away for a day or two. All I’ve done really is either drive to/from Melrose or run errands. I want to get a tent and go camp for a weekend. No computer, no TV, no XM...just nature and quiet.

Sadly, I don’t even want to drive there. I just want to get there. I think I’m burning out from driving all the time to/from work.

I’m 400 hours (10 weeks) from having a week’s paid vacation. I should be able to take off the week of my birthday and get paid for it.

I’m looking forward to this.

Long time, no post

I’ve not been posting much and I do need to get back into the habit.

Life is going well. Chris and I have settled into our apartment. We’re down to the “small things” that are missing from our place. We need to get a broom and a mop. Mega-thanks to Jesse and Lori, friends of mine, who send a huge box of kitchen stuff over to us. We now have an abundance of silverware as well as cooking vessels.

It’s the weekend, so Chris and I got out of the apartment today, just to get out. We did the “walking tour” of the Mall of America today. Nothing exciting, but we did have fun commenting on the unwashed masses of humanity wandering through the heart of capitalism in America.

I’m still having some issues adjusting to my medications, but given the choices, I’ll take the issues I’m having. They are frustrating, but it beats being terminally depressed all the time. In semi-related news, I’m hoping to re-find my muse this weekend and get some more writing done.

Other than that, I’m gonna be doing my usual laundry trip for the week and hopefully making it to Casual Male XL to get some more polo/golf shirts that are actually made for big guys like me at a reasonable price. Yeah, I can get a 2XL for $14.99 at Target, but it’s still not *long* enough. I can get a 2XLT for $21.99 during the sale that’s going on at Casual Male XL and I have a coupon for 25% of a total purchase, if it’s over $75. Hell, Six new shirts would be around $130, so slashing $33 off the total isn’t all bad. It’s a free shirt and a half ;)

Other than that, I’ve fallen into the suburban lifestyle...and I like it.
