Today was our first day training our replacement team in Eden Valley.
Woefully unprepared.
All I can say.
I have to be in Edina at @#^~ 6:30am.
Only eight more works days at BI. Three of them are short days due to the three hour commute to Eden Valley, so I only "work" five hours and most of that is just helping the new people find things in the system and walking them through different processes.
It's not tough, but it's draining seeing just how far from being ready they are for having it all on their plates. They get webchat tomorrow (oh boy!) and likely will have all calls by the end of the week.
They aren't ready. Oh, they are not ready.

Writer's Block: Your First Record
The first CD I purchased was INXS "Kick" which I still have along with every other INXS release from INXS to Welcome to Wherever You Are...after that...wasn't really INXS.
Long lost icon?
Okay, so I haven't had much reason to have the happy icon out there for a while...
I've been laying low the last few weeks because everything has been a blur of chaotic change and I wanted to make sure things were getting back to normal before I let it all out.
My last post was that my job (and my entire department) was being made redundant on 1 August.
It's well into the process as email and most of the phone lines have been transitioned out to Eden Valley.
Tomorrow and Wednesday, I'll be out in Eden Valley training and trying to work out all the kinks/disasters that have been ongoing in the transition. It means two days of working 7a-3:30p...joy. Oh happy.
On the plus side, back on the 11th of July, I had an interview with Best Buy. No, not for the retail side, rather for a corporate customer service position. My interview was at 1pm and I was recommended to be hired, pending the results of my background check and the drug test.
Monday, 14 July at 9.02am, my phone rang. It was Best Buy staffing calling to offer me the position. I accepted it after hearing that they were matching my salary. I did my drug test on Wednesday and the background check cleared, so I start on 4 August. My last day at BI is 31 July as far as I know. I have had a time off request for 1 August in the system now for about three months as I have plans to take a long weekend camping trip.
The new job trimmed the 4th off the trip, but I'm going to see if I can take off the 31st and 1st. I'd like to have the extra time to have some breathing room between BI and Best Buy.
Other than some issues related to cleaning and chores in the apartment, the home life is doing well.
All in all, aside from the price of gas, life is pretty dog-gone good right now.
I'm actually *happy*!
