I’ve been off work since last Thursday. My check barely covered what I’d overdrafted (DAMNIT!). I’d forgotten about a couple of automatic withdrawls that happen at the end of the month. I had just under $6 left. I will have to put off my car insurance and paying the last $90 on my truck for two weeks.
Oh well. My hearing is coming back well. I’m still having occasional problems with them not wanting to equalize pressure, but that’s a given with something like this. It happens fairly rarely so it’s not a reason for concern.
I likely will not be going to game after all. I have less than fiddy cents to my name right now and I have to save every drop of gas I can for work next week.
The most important thing, I still have my hearing.

Howdy again!
I’m off work today. I’m hoping to take the entire week off to let my ears heal and be able to talk for more than 20 minutes without my ears feeling like they are on fire.
Otherwise, I’ve been flipping back and forth (this is the 4th time in a week) between Linux distributions. I was using Fedora Core 4. Then I downloaded Ubuntu Linux 6.06 test 5 (codename: Dapper Drake). Then I downloaded Fedora Core 5.
I’ve flipped back and forth between Fedora and Ubuntu a few times. I’ve settled on Ubuntu except I can’t figure out how to get all the “development” stuff installed so I can actually compile stuff from source and not rely on .deb files or synaptic.
The only thing I really need to compile is the gaym plugin for gaim. Everything else is here and happy. It is much more stable than Fedora, faster than Fedora, has smoother fonts than Fedora, and KDE apps don’t shit all over the place like Fedora.
And that’s the quiet update from the land of nerd-dom.

The misery continues...
My ears are still hurting like hell. My right ear bubbles and gurgles whereas my left ear is a hot lump of pain and oozing. My left eardrum is ruptured and my right has felt like it ruptured today. I can’t hear terribly well. Everything is muddy and I really can’t understand people unless I can lipread them.
Other than that, I stepped down as an ST in the Twin Cities Garou game. There are problems that I won’t talk about here. I’m thinking that I may transfer my PC to a neighboring game. I’ve not decided if I’m going to continue playing in the Twin Cities game.
*sigh* and I was finally getting a PC that I really liked and was getting him built up.
Well, my painkillers are kicking in...so I should head to bed.

Ow. Ow. Ow.
Howdy again.
As you have read here previously, I’ve had a cold or the flu for the past week or so. I’m finally feeling better in that my chest is starting to loosen up and empty. My sinuses are emptying out and didn’t get infected. However, my ears have gotten infected. I have a perforated left eardrum and a highly inflammed right eardrum that was described as “likely to rupture”. I have an ear infection (duh) in both ears as well as a middle ear infection in both ears.
I’m on antibiotics orally, in the ear, and they sent me home with percocet so I can sleep through the night and not want to rip my ears out most of the time.
It’s 10:30 and I’m going to take my meds for the night and head to bed soon I think.
Other than that, life is going pretty well.

Wow...
What a great song!
I just caught it on XM29/U-Pop.
His voice is somewhat annoying, but yet, it’s such a keening voice, it’s more that it’s all emotion and so I can listen to it.
It’s such a beautiful sad song.

Still sick...
Heya...
It’s been a few days and I apologize. I am still battling the flu. I’m starting to get better, but I’m in the end game, where it’s a tug of war between feeling better and feeling like shit.
I did go to game Saturday night. I had fun but I really wasn’t feeling that great.
Otherwise, it’s been a quiet weekend. I cleaned up my room, vacuumed the floor and did laundry.
Oh. how. thrilling.
I loved every second of it...but it did cause me to think about something.
Why are weekends only two days and we work five? It’s just not fair!

Howdy ya'll!
Yes, it's been a very long time in coming, but here is the big ol' update...
I got back to work on 3/6 and worked the week through until Friday when I got the uber super special call. The VP of one of our clients called into the call center as a normal customer and decided to see just how difficult of a call he could manage to get us on and see if we were doing our jobs.
I got the call (unknowingly and randomly). I did everything I was supposed to do and then some which earned me the rest of the day off paid. Go me!
I headed up to Melrose and spent the weekend with. We spent all day Saturday driving. We took his manipulative ex-gf back to her parents near Johnson Creek Wisconsin. It was a horrid trip to say the least. Mag was being bitchy and trying to provoke his ex-gf. I was quite amazed at how quiet she remained through the trip, but I'm certainly not complaining. It was a long 16 hours in the truck and I spent *way* more money on the trip than I should have, but then again, since we didn't get the $45 promised from the ex-gf's parents, it was a double hit to my budget. I'm seriously thinking that I will put off moving another month, just to make damned sure that I have all my ducks in a row financially.
The downside to it all was that and Mag's ex-gf all had a nasty cold/flu like thing. I have it now. Joy. *sniff* *wheeze* *cough*

Yeah, I decided I didn't want to risk the 120 mile drive in white out/ice conditions.
It's back to the grind otherwise. I'm battling my cold and hoping for this week to go by faster.
Otherwise, I'm doing well. I'm hoping to get some writing done this weekend as well as getting more Garou stuff done.
That's it for the Big Bear update...

Hi.
I’m alive. I was doing better this morning, but this evening my back has really started to bother me. I think that’s a side effect of the multiple attempts to do the spinal tap through the area where I have the degenerated disc in my low back. My headache is back full tilt as well. I took two percocet about 45 minutes ago. The headache is starting to fade away (as am I).
If I don’t post much during the next few days, don’t worry about me. I’m taking lots of naps and not sitting at the computer for long periods of time.
If you do need me, call my cell.

I'm home. I think.
Hi kids.
I’m home from the hospital. As some of you may have read in other friends journals, I went to the ER early Monday morning. I thought I was having a severe migraine and thank Goddess I went to the ER. I’ll spare ya’ll the details of it all, but it wasn’t bacterial (and very dangerous, sometimes fatal) meningitis, rather non-contagious viral meningitis, not a migraine.
I’ll be back to work tomorrow and hopefully able to make it through the whole day. I just have to take it easy, not a lot of rapid head motions or heavy lifting/twisting. I’m okay so long as I don’t do much. If I spin my head around or nod/shake it rapidly, it hurts like hell.
I’m off to lay down and try to nap for a while. The medications I’m on are hitting me like a ton of bricks. It’s oral meds, so the dosing hits faster and harder.
