Howdy again!

I’m off work today. I’m hoping to take the entire week off to let my ears heal and be able to talk for more than 20 minutes without my ears feeling like they are on fire.

Otherwise, I’ve been flipping back and forth (this is the 4th time in a week) between Linux distributions. I was using Fedora Core 4. Then I downloaded Ubuntu Linux 6.06 test 5 (codename: Dapper Drake). Then I downloaded Fedora Core 5.

I’ve flipped back and forth between Fedora and Ubuntu a few times. I’ve settled on Ubuntu except I can’t figure out how to get all the “development” stuff installed so I can actually compile stuff from source and not rely on .deb files or synaptic.

The only thing I really need to compile is the gaym plugin for gaim. Everything else is here and happy. It is much more stable than Fedora, faster than Fedora, has smoother fonts than Fedora, and KDE apps don’t shit all over the place like Fedora.

And that’s the quiet update from the land of nerd-dom.
