Off the wall thought for the day:
Yes, I'm generalizing, I know that...
Could the attraction of most gay men to thin guys be attributed to the fact that the thinner body is what is idealized in the heterosexual community?
Supermodels that are twigs are tauted as the epitome of femininity.
Most gay men go for twiggy guys. Could it be they are still trying to conform to their societally programmed heterosexism? Has the mass media has programmed them to the point that they are following the "drives" that heterosexual men are supposed to follow? The Gap and A&F puts out new clothing and *wowie* it's all the latest gay rage.
Why can't gay men just be themselves, be who or what they want to be?
Just a thought I had while double checking my fall schedule

Sort of. The human sexual drive is still mainly proprogrammed for mating and having sex with the most healthy specimen that can be had. Unfortunatly since we humans have higher brain functions we can dictate what healthy is every few generations. Back in the victorian days it was a pale skinned valuptuous figure that captured men's attention cause that meant they were well fed, wealthy enough not to have to work, and a sturdy body for childbearing. We are unfotunatly a slave to our own inadequicies. We define perfection and then kill our selves to be it or have it. Gay men are just as suceptable to this as straight guys. Unfortunatly for most gay men, this "IS" being themselves. It's the sexual equivalent of keeping up with the Jones's. Tell me, don't you try to go after the hottest stocky jock you can get your hands on?
I'll agree with you about keeping up with the Joneses. I'll admit I look and drool like a fiend at hot stocky guys.
Having said that...
Yes, I do go after the hot guys in my mind, but honestly, I still look for a brain over braun.
If humans have such higher brain powers, why do more people not rebel against the herd?
Well that is another bit of programming. If all humans rebelled against thier herd programming we would have anarchy. Unfortunatly we have survived as a whole cause we learned early on that to survive we need to be in a group. If you ever notice people in a large crowd, they move like a herd of animals. They may not look at each other or even achnowledge each others exhistence but they all act in unison. Though luckily there are those few of us who can think for ourselves and fight to make sure humanity grows and has it's limits tested constantly.
