It's been awhile

I've not posted anything for a while. I'll be breaking that habit of not posting.

For your reading pleasure, a new poem entitled Alone

Alone

I woke up alone.

physically.

emotionally.

It was a hard blow
realizing how alone,
isolated not by choice
but by circumstance

The realization drained me
sapped my joie du vivre
taken the spring in my step

Fate taunts me
by passing men through
who I would ask out
that make me smile
who turn on both body and soul
but the men are untouchable
forbidden heterosexual fruit.

I continue on day by day
waiting for the dark clouds
to leave and for the sun
to shine in again

I will find my partner...

someday.
