Windows XP. I was going to move everything over to a safe partition, install XP, move my mail into Bloomba and all would be happy as I could run my weather stuff and all that jazz...
Well, it was all good until XP saw the 40Gb partition and went (OOH! MINE!!) and proceeded to format it.
It formatted right over my mp3 collection. All 3200+ files. All 16Gb.
I have *nothing*.
Even my prized "Burning Flame" video from Vitamin Z is now history.
*sigh*
I'm back on RedHat 9.
I played with fire, I got burnt.

Well... The video is always retrieveable.
I'm not sure if it is still in the collection or not, but if not I can always get it again. It isn't like they don't ever repeat videos on VH1 Classic. ;)
Windows XP is notoriously vague. A lot of times it'll ask if you want to make a drive "accessible" to Windows XP. Sounds trivial? Well, that's another of those, grab the drive, repartition and reformat...
Ugh... Sorry you got burned.
So, now that everything has been destroyed, your going back? Why?
You may as well go forth, do what you were going to do with Win XP, and be happy... You can also back up your MP3's on CD when you get them back... then when you switch you OS again, and again, and again, your MP3 files will be safe... I have the burner for you to use... you just need some cheap CD's... can't get the money... ask for a donation from a devoted fan...
Silly Bi-OS user can't decide which side to play on
Ugg. Sorry to hear about that. You were practically the unofficial offsite backup for the Bare Naked Ladies.
20/20 advice always sucks, but I prefer to always do new OS installs on new hard drives.
Ya know all you have to do is ask. I have the Vitamin Z mpg and some of the mp3s you lost.
