My trusty Phillips 107E monitor with the bad cable just couldn't take the beating it was getting from the constantly changing signalling from the video card. It let out a loud pop...and a cloud of smoke...and that was that.
I've stolen
*sigh*
I was hoping it would last another 48 hours...as the project is that close to being done and delivered. Oh well.
*bids adieu to a monitor that's moved at least 20 times between dorm rooms and apartments in three states...*

Should I bring down the burnt beast for you? Yeah, it has Novell Netware scorched into the top of the screen, but one of you would be able to use it for the time being until you get a fancy new 21" LCD GOD of a monitor.
Actually, I'll be getting a 17" CRT. LCD's are still too damned pricey for the size...
I can get a very nice 19" Samsung TrueFlat .20dp for $199 or I can do the 17" for $149...
Either way...beats $379 for an off name LCD panel...
didn't we work this out earlier?
Actually, I'm awaiting the server admin to fix the server that I'm working on...so I can finish a project, get paid for it, and replace said monitor.
I was trying to milk as much life outta the poor thing as I could. The constant loss of the green signal (also affected DPMS) finally fried it's lil boob toob brain.
Wait... Let me get this straight.
You must Mooch Mooch's Monitor?
(Speaking of tongue tiers!)
SAM's has really cheap 17" CTX monitors. I bought mine from them 4 years ago and they still run well.
I've got an old Apple 17" that I'm not sure WHAT to do with... but won't work on PCs anyway without an adapter.
Ummm...I went to the Sam's Club website...and they don't have any CRTs...all they have are LCDs.
Maybe I'll have to get a guest membership and look around.
