Fascinating...

I'm listening to a BBC report about immigration and it's focusing on the Hmong immigrants in Minneapolis/St. Paul.

It's a typically normal BBC report showing the good and bad things that are happening with the Hmong...and it's also explained the history of how the Hmong were treated but the U.S. government and how they made their way to the U.S.

It's fascinating as I lived in the Twin Cities for six years and St. Cloud for two years.

Though it's odd hearing the Twin Cities referred to constantly as St. Paul/Minneapolis.

I do appreciate having the access to information and viewpoints from all over the world, but it is somewhat disturbing that I learned more of that history, not while living there...but while listening to a report from a broadcaster who is 10,000 miles away getting a report from another broadcaster who is 7,000 miles away from them...and 7,000 miles from the Twin Cities...all while I'm 500 miles away.

Globalization is an odd thing...
