Good News/Bad News dept

I had a quickly scheduled followup with my neuro this morning at 10:30.

The diagnosis of MS is now much further along (but still not definate as there are no signs of lesions in my MRIs) but the symptoms are that of MS. He's starting me on some "wonderful" (his word not mine) drug called neurontin to manage the large amounts of pain, numbness, and tingling I have. It should also act as a bit of a tranquilizer, helping me to sleep (which knocking down my pain level will help with too). All in all, a good trip to the doctor...

Until I checked with Walgreen's on the price on Neurontin. $120/mo.

Thankfully I go in Monday for my assessment interview with the state of IL for public assistance. I'm not really able to work due to the fact that I'm clouded by pain, can't lift over about 20lbs without major pain, and there's no clue when the next debilitating attack will be.

So until Monday, I'm sitting my prescription for Neurontin. Hopefully, all will be quick and painless with the state and I can get this done quickly and efficiently.

best of luck!

i know how much added stress that type of thing can add to life (waiting after the interview that is). I've been there. a few times.

and OUCH on that drug cost! and i suppose until there is complete surity it is MS theres no help from either the drug company or state probably on the cost of it.

((thats one of the reason i'm leary of going south once/if my green card shows up. I'm on a few doozies myself,))

and speaking of in bed convelessing... i think i'll go back to my bed too. this flu/headcold? whatever is settled in my chest and everything hurts. owie.
