hmm, there was a time when a few inches wasn't a big deal

it depends on a few inches of what.

The problem with the snow today/tonight is more that we're supposed to get 5-8" of snow in a rather short period time between 8p-3a along with sustained winds of 15-25mph... it'll be low visibility and drifting too.

I feel yer pain. I used to walk a paper route with 115 houses. It was always a treat hiking through 8" of snow at 4am...

Actually I rather miss it...it was quiet and serene.
