Found out at about 11:15am this morning that our entire department is being phased out in favor of a new team in our Eden Valley, MN facility.
Our department will cease to exist as of 8/1/08.
For me and the rest of the temporary classed employees, the "severance" offer if we stay through 8/1 was a slap in the face.
Oh well, I have six weeks to find a new job and make sure that nothing hiccups along the way.
I'll post more later if I can sort out all the jumble in my head.

I'm sorry to hear this. Hopefully, you'll find something better in the interim.
If nothing else, the 'severance' may be better than nothing.

Wow. That really sucks. That explains the "cranky" message you had up on Yahoo. Good luck with the job hunt. Maybe you'll even find something that fits you even better!
