Other than oversleeping bigtime today, I woke up excited about heading up to Collegeville (St. John's University) and seeing my friend Owen. I got up about 2.30pm and tried calling him. No answer. I got up, took a shower, and all that kinda stuff and headed out to get gas. I never thought I'd be *happy* to see $1.79&sup9; for gas.
I headed up I-94 a lot faster than I realized. St. Cloud is only an hour away from my house, which made St. John's only about an hour and a half away.
I called Owen from the visitor parking area. He came down from his dorm room and we wandered around takling and shooting the shit. We went back up to his room to make a pizza (homemade pizza) only to discover that there was no lube...errr...butter like stuff to be found. Our conversations were general mixed in with a few innuendos now and then. He's a sweetie and "second base is second base."
Instead we drove back into Sauk Rapids, to an "Irish Pub" named Jimmy's Pour House for a couple of burgers and more idle chitchat while I amused Owen as I growled and groaned at the hockey game. Who did win? Last I saw, the end of the 2nd, Colorado (bleh) was winning 3-0.
We drove back to St. John's and sat in his dorm floor's lounge and shot the breeze for a couple of more hours. About 12.30am, he needed to head to bed and I either needed to head home or crash soon. Owen walked me down to my truck and we talked for a bit. We hugged good night and I headed home.
I'd forgotten how much faster you get *home* from St. Cloud than it takes you to get there. But at 2am, I rolled home, thinking to myself I had a great first date.
Congratulations to Owen, St. John's University, Class of 2001.
