2200 Calories (my goal was 2000)
I actually followed portion control for all three meals.
I read my labels and tried to keep my sugar/fat/sodium under the guidelines for the 2000 calorie diet.
I was a lil over on my sodium (by 20%) due to the pickles on my ham sammich.
The first day of my attemped diet. I'll find out later this week what I will be doing more concertedly from the dietician based on my sugar profile and all that jazz.
I thought it would be much harder than it is. Granted, the roommates who have a six pack of Snickers bars in the fridge are killing me slowly with temptation.
Lessons learned today:
Eat slowly. Enjoy each bite.
not only do you eat less (you fill up faster) but you get to enjoy the taste of your food.
Quantity is all in the mind. I was expecting a serving to be 2 french fries and a lick off of a chicken breast.
I can have two chicken breasts (200 calories, almost no fat, and no sugar!!) and add to that some veggies, and it's a decent meal..and I don't feel like I'm on a new diet.
I feel like I've done something right!
Now let's see how I'm doing in two weeks...
