A lazy Wednesday afternoon...

My back is definately messed up. I'm sore and don't like moving, but I have to keep doing stuff. I couldn't sleep last night due to my back and a bit too much sugar/carbs from two baked potatoes with dinner.

Mike should have found out today when he has to have his procedure to extract his kidney stone. It'll be hell for him, but at least in a few days we can have a sex life again...

Otherwise, I think the plan for the night is to hit Pick 'N Save for some groceries, to go order a bedroom set so that the two big bears don't have to try to fight for space on a full (size) bed.

In odder news, I've gotten quite attached to the game Animal Crossing for the Nintendo Gamecube. It's not a violent shooter game. Rather, you live in a town with animals. You interact with your neighbours, trade fruit and items for bells (the local currency) and pay off your loan to Mr. Nook. Mike got me into it. I initially snubbed it as a kiddie game, but it is fun for a 60-90 minute diversion to the day. It'll be nice to come home from work and play it.

Last night was my night to experiment with my computer. I tried installing SuSE Linux 9.0 via a net install. After an hour and a half, it still was estimating 2 hours to install and that was at 1am. I said a big "FUCK YOU!" and promptly killed that idea. I reinstalled the soon to be EOL'd RedHat 9 that I've loved for so long and had it up and running completely in just under 2 hours counting updates and downloading KDE 3.2 beta 2 (no RPMS for RC1 yet).

I may download Fedora (the 'new' RedHat consumer distro, basically you get to beta test for them) and run it. It's basically RH 9 continued on with a new name and some odd packages. I'm holding off to see how long it is before Fedora Core 2 is released and what it includes. It should have a 2.6 kernel and KDE 3.2 (final). If it does, I'll probably jump over at that point.

Otherwise, I'm counting the days until Feb 2nd and I start work.

But right now, I'm off to be a domestic goddess and get dinner ready for when the bear gets home from work.
