I'm not sure what the &*%@ is up with Comcast..but our cable modem has gotten to the point of liking to pop offline and reset...which takes 5-10 minutes per reset...not a problem...unless it's happening several times a day! We're on our fourth reboot since I jumped online at around 11am.
If I had authorization on the account, I'd be calling them to find out what the f*ck is going on... In the meantime...I'll sit here and do a lot of nothing as I keep getting knocked off the net while trying to find a job and working on a website that would actually pay me money.
*grrr* I'm not a happy bear today.

What kind of modem is it? Cuz if it's one of those RCA ones then those have been recalled cuz of that kind of problem...The power supply on them goes out randomly and stuff.

No...this is the cable modem suddenly doesn't have signal. Analog and Digital cable are fine...it just loses the cable data signal and proceeds to reset and relink...
I wish it was something as simple as a power supply. Six years of running an ISP gives me a pretty good idea of what's going on...I'm hoping it's just an upgrade that Comcast is doing...as this is has been slowly getting worse over the last week...
