Medical update

The neurologist finally called. I had elevated pressure in my spinal fluid which is indicative of inflammation. The protein levels in the spinal fluid were elevated. Upon further testing, the test for specific "indicator" proteins for MS were negative, but my neurologic symptoms are positive for MS. The elevated protein levels are also indicative of inflammation of the spinal cord/fluid.

He's referring me to one of his group partners who specializes in spinocranial inflammation for a second opinion. However, the current diagnosis is leaning back to MS or a disease that is very similar to it, but that may be working on a different level. MS destroys the fatty sheath around nerves. This could be something that doesn't destroy it, but inflames it and causes similar symptoms, but doesn't produce the elevated protein results of MS.

In other words, we're quickly narrowing down the possibilities, but it's no longer a hotel full of doors, we're down to a single floor on a single wing that all have the same master key.

At least I'm getting answers and I feel like progress is getting made.
